How to Develop a Better Friendship with Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is always there for you.

Sometimes we forget this during our busy daily lives.

I was raised as a Catholic but stepped away from the church for a while.

Something interesting happened; I became closer to Jesus by finding Him on my own.

After circling the globe for 8 years and meeting so many fascinating and religious people around the world I grew closer to God and still maintain a strong friendship or relationship with Jesus Christ. Like any friendship, it takes some work to keep the bond strong but again, Jesus Christ is always there for you.

Follow these tips to develop a stronger bond with Jesus Christ.

See Your Own Version of Jesus Christ to Connect Deeply

The amazing thing about Christ is that every human may see Him differently. Some people prefer to see him teaching his disciples. Other folks see him praying by himself. I do not see Jesus as clearly as others but I feel Him as Spirit, always there to love me and hug me. I say this prayer many times daily to remind myself that Jesus loves me and hugs me, always taking care of me.

Do not force yourself to see Jesus how others tell you to perceive him. The blessing of Him is He is everywhere, in everything, so simply let your heart guide you. You develop strong friendships with you see your friends as they are. See Jesus as an image, Spirit, or however, he feels most like Infinite Love, to you, to connect more deeply with Him.

See the Illusion of the Physical World and the Infinite Love of Jesus Christ

A few times in my life, I lost all of my money. During times when I did not have a strong friendship with Christ, I panicked because I believed my security, safety and wealth was in the money. Boy was I wrong.

Money – like everything in the physical world – is an illusion. Although we should feel grateful for physical gifts you never want to put your faith in stuff over Christ because Jesus is the source of everything. Everything in the physical world changes; plus when you put full faith and trust in God, you will soon see prosperity and success follows.

Of course, believing in the Infinite Love of Jesus makes you become better friends with Christ because when most humans spend their days trying to accumulate money to survive, and trying to gain the love of people so they feel accepted, your spiritual nourishment connects you more deeply with Jesus Christ, as you see through the illusion of the physical world.

I feel grateful for every penny I own and I express gratitude for the food in my fridge but I understand that my bond with Jesus and belief in Spirit helps make it all possible.

Become better friends with Christ by noting Jesus as the source of all your good, and you will see through the illusion that your health, wealth and happiness is in physical things.

Never Be Embarrassed to Say You Are Friends with Jesus Christ

After reading A Course in Miracles I realized I was ashamed to say I was friends with Jesus. I understood that the manuscript was Christ’s Infinite Wisdom relayed to 2 people on planet earth, who shared his counsel as human conduits. Sometimes, it felt awkward or funny to say this because I feared people would make fun of me. But when I realized Jesus is Infinite, the source of all things forever, I became more comfortable saying this and writing this post.

Freely share that you are friends with Jesus Christ. Removing shame – which is the lowest energy – helps you bond even more deeply with your best Buddy.

    Phil and Ryan,

I have to admit this time, I did not realize this post was from Ryan. It’s a wonderful post with great suggestions of how to have the relationship we all want (or should want) from Jesus Christ.

I rededicated my life to God on March 27, 2018 and I admit I had some doubts about posting my thoughts online and changing my path online. But I’m proud to tell people of my experiences with the Almighty and how my life has changed in so many ways.

Matthew 10:33 English Standard Version (ESV) 33. but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.

We need to bring Jesus Christ back into our daily lives and tell others about it.

God Bless you both, Phil and Ryan

I like that daily note Monna; this needs to be a daily thing to become accustomed to receiving God’s wisdom.

    Hi Ryan and Philip

Ryan, I like that you dared to write about as you say you have been ashamed at a time in your life.
I have to admit that I am a good friend with Jesus as well. At one point in my life, I did read whatever I could find about him, also controversial. And not only about the religion that was built around him. I think I know him good, and I too see him not as most people see him, he is like an old friend to me. He was an outstanding teacher and also a rebel in his time. Sometimes I feel him when I see for example comments in FB when seemingly devotees write comments that would be right the contrary to what he taught. But this is life, and a reminder to keep seeding and experiencing. There are many other teachers who do seeding, this is not always famous people. In fact, if we are one we are all, everyone in his own way. We all have the wisdom deep inside us, we only need to be aware and ask to receive answers and Jesus also taught.
Thank you for writing about your experiences.

Well said Erika. We do have that wisdom within and we we ask for guidance from Jesus, we find those answers.

    Hi Phil and Ryan,

What a wonderful article and also the comment from Monna.

I went to Church for years, and then “something” happened, and I was angry at God and stopped going.

But caring friends just kept reminding me that He would be there for me. When I moved to Norwich, I somehow found my way into the most wonderful Church – it’s not even the one nearest to me. But it is the most welcoming and faith-affirming Church I have ever been to, and every time I go there, I feel as if I have “come home”.

Wonderful Joy. Spirit has so many lessons for us to learn, so we open our hearts, feel our fears-pains, and proceed from a peaceful, easy-going space.
